Week 30 of My Project 52 Photography Challenge: Vision
Week 30 of My Project 52 Photography Challenge: Vision
You know, when I started this Project 52 Photography Challenge, I promised myself that I would only occasionally use Simon as the inspiration for the assigned themes. I wanted to use this project to help me draw inspiration from everyday events & places. As it turns out, that is a pretty difficult task, as this little guy just makes up so much of who I am.
For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a mom. And, I’ll be honest, I thought that I had always wanted girls. My vision for my life was getting married and having two little girls, who would become the closest of sisters- like me and my sister. I figured that I would have children in my twenties and I envisioned family vacations with two little girls with pony tails and pink dresses playing in the sand. However, I was in my 30’s before I became pregnant, and from the very first moment that I saw the positive blue line, I *knew* I was having a boy. Eleven weeks later, during an ultrasound, my momma’s instinct was confirmed. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that, at first, I was a bit taken back- I had always had this vision of my life with these two little girls, and now we were going to have a boy! How was I going to know how to play with a boy?
Little did I know the fun that was in store for us. This little guy has brought us so much joy, happiness, adventure and love that it is hard to even put into words how he has changed our lives. I couldn’t have possibly envisioned a better life for myself and our little family. This is the vision I had of parenthood, I just didn’t know it until I had Simon.
