swimmingPhew, I can’t even believe we are already well into the summer wedding season! The first half of this year has been incredibly fantastic, and busy, and so I was thrilled that our little family was able to sneak away for some much needed R&R, last week!

I’ve been wanting to take our family camping since before I had a family… and I’m so happy that for the past two years, I’ve been able to convince my husband to do just that. We took our first “real” camping trip last year and it was a smashing success. So this year, we headed back to Rocky Gap State Park for another week of outdoor fun! (don’t tell my family, but I’m adding a day on each year, until before they notice, we will just be living in the woods and surviving on marshmallows and coffee.)

This year was a lot of fun, since my cousin and his daughter decided to join us. They got the cabin next to ours and it was perfect for allowing the kids to run back and forth and meal sharing and such. My cousin is much more like a brother to me, so it was fantastic to get to spend a week together and watch our kids play. Also, not only was the weather much better this year, but our sweet little Simon finally found the fun in going under water. Needless to say, this year’s trip was a blast! I wish I had taken more photos, but well, I was too busy having fun.

He was so thrilled with his accomplishment and it was practically impossible to keep his head above water! I love our little swimmy fish!swimmingMARYLAND_PHOTOGRAPHER-101-2 beach boyI managed to get some time out on the lake myself… and now I might want a kayak. kayaking on lake habeebWhile my husband took this out of focus photo of me in the kayak, I took these iPhone images from the water…

For an old guy, he sure can handle some rocks!MARYLAND_PHOTOGRAPHER-102Of course, this lucky dog got to nap it out afterwards… he sure does hate camping.MARYLAND_PHOTOGRAPHER-103Sadly, all fun trips must come to an end- but what better way to say goodbye to vacation, than watching my father ride off on his Harley… Go daddio!maryland photographer harley softail
