Summer of Simon | Baltimore Photographer
For the last few years, I’ve embraced fall by saying ‘goodbye’ to summer, with a blog post, recapping our fun summer adventures. As a Baltimore photographer, I enjoy capturing the little moments, with my family. And while I didn’t take my camera out as much as I would’ve liked to this year, I did still managed to capture a lot of fun! (You’ll see a good mix of “real camera” images along with some iPhone images). Next year, I need to promise myself to take my camera out with me more!
During the cold, dark days of winter, it is always fun to go back and look at those posts and relive all of the fun we had; and this summer is no exception. We had a lot of fun this summer and I’m excited to finally share with you the Summer of Simon!
Summer of Simon | Baltimore Photographer
The summer started off great, when we became tourists in our own city! (Oh, and Simon caught the photo bug) Here we are at Federal Hill & Camden Yards…
Fort Howard
The Science Center
Catching the photo bug at Gunpowder
And the National Aquarium
We went to Fort McHenry
And picked flowers
And learned that even though Simon is SO big, he still fits in tiny places… even if just barely.
Simon got a wetsuit for his birthday and we spent a ton of time at the beach and in little swimming holes, throughout Maryland. He also finally got to turn forward facing in his carseat!
We also took some selfies!
We took many trips to the National Aquarium in Baltimore
We hung out with our pets
He made music with Daddy
Had ice cream with Daddy
Rode bikes and skateboards with Daddy
Did I mention that our little man turned SIX?????
Which means he can reach over the sink now. When did this happen?
Simon took to wearing formal wear
Somebody learned how to swim!
And how to relax at the waterpark
Aunt Brea took Simon climbing… and as it turns out… he’s pretty stinking good
Simon *finally* met his dream of visiting the “sky building”
And we had some fun at Pierce’s Park
And had more fun at the local fair
We went camping
Got a questionable haircut
Did perhaps a wee bit too much bed jumping
Hung out at the playground
We went on great adventures
Simon played creative director…
And leader
And studied spiders
But sadly, all good things must come to an end, and thus… Simon entered first grade!

October 27, 2016I’m not crying. You’re crying.
I’m so glad I was able to be a small part of his summer of awesome. And I love that silhouetted shot of him on the rock wall at the fair. He’s such a fearless, strong, inspiring little guy. I’m so happy to know him.
Love, your (faux) Aunt Brea.

October 27, 2016Oh my gosh, I’m loving this recap of your summer…it looks like you all had so much fun. I love that you got so many pictures of Simon taking pictures and I really love that bathtub pic. What an inspiration to take more lifestyle pics!
