Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery Wedding | Amy & Kristina

Amy & Kristina’s Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery wedding is one that I feel like I’ve been waiting for, well, forever. They were referred to me, by a bridesmaid from two previous weddings (now three), that I had photographed, & I knew immediately that I was going to love working with these ladies. Lucky for me, they did not disappoint! From our first meeting, onto their engagement session, these two have been such a joy to work with and photograph and I must admit, I’m a bit (or a lot) sad that it is over!

Amy & Kristina

If there has ever been a couple that were a perfect compliment to each other, it is Amy & Kristina. Together, they are playful, tender & kind. Kristina’s calm, mindful presence and Amy’s vivacious enthusiasm for every moment are the perfect blend & they compliment each other in every possible way. It is not only amazing to witness, but to photograph.

It all started when Kristina and Amy met at a Presbyterian Summer camp, when they we were just 15 years old. Amy knew right away that there was something different about the way she looked at Kristina, but of course, wasn’t ready to admit it quite yet, to anyone other than her sister and best friend.

To this day, Amy still has a diary she kept when she was a teenager, where she wrote about her feelings for Kristina; but, having never said anything, Amy and Kristina simply stayed friends. Throughout high school and college, they both returned to that same camp each summer. Finally, going into their senior year of college, their friendship changed into so much more and they became a couple.

Kristina told me that she loves the way the room lights up when Amy walks in the door. Whether she is walking into a house surrounded by family and friends, or into the pulpit or sanctuary, Amy is the bright spot. No matter what, her comforting and reassuring words and vivacious laugh and contagious joy makes everything OK, all at once. Kristina says that Amy is her number one fan, her rock, her comedian & her wise owl- and that is clear in every interaction I witness.

Amy loves Kristina’s passion. She says that Kristina¬†always puts 100% into everything she does. Whether it’s teaching, her family, friends, or Amy… she puts all that she is into all that she does. She says that Kristina is the strongest person she knows & that she is the calm to her storm and her solid ground.
