Project 52 Photography Challenge | 12/52: Shining
Well, I’m a wee bit behind in blogging my Project 52 Photography Challenge images. The last two weeks were spring break and I was able to enjoy some nice time with my family. I was also able to photograph two wonderful sessions, that I’ll be sharing on the blog soon! Have no fear, though- I’ve still been documenting! To catch back up, today I’m blogging week 12 of the project 52 photography challenge: Shining
Project 52 Photography Challenge | Week 12: Shining
This image was taken on one of the first nice, warm, sunny days of spring we had! My son and I were waiting in the car- just hanging out and playing, when he decided to make shadow puppets on the ground. Thank goodness the sun was shining! His is an “alien robot” and mine, well, mine is just saying “hi” to the alien robot. What can I say?.. he is better at this than I am.
We don’t often just take the time to sit and hang out. It seems like life is so busy and we are just rushing from one activity to another. Once we were done at the park, we were headed to Grandma’s house. However, Simon just wanted to sit in the car for a bit and play. It was great to just sit together and really, truly enjoy one another! There were no electronics, nothing particular to do. No fancy toys or songs or story. Just me and my boy. And really, when was the last time you played with your shadow?
One of the things that I love most about the Project 52 photography challenge, is that I am more likely to keep my camera with me and take a minute to capture these smaller moments in life. That really is a gift, and quite frankly, this was a shining moment that I’m glad I didn’t miss.
Be sure to check out last week’s project 52 image on the blog!
