Project 52 Photography Challenge | 10/52: Nature
Well, last week put us 10 weeks into the year and the theme of the week was nature. I’ll admit that I got a little caught up in “spring fever” and got behind in my blogging; but really, who can blame me?
I’ve never been much for nature photography, and after such a long, cold winter, I am so excited to see nature’s first signs of spring!
Project 52 Photography Challenge | 10/52: Nature
Here, in my garden, the tulips and daffodils are eagerly breaking ground, and are finally giving some life to what remains of our garden from last year. My son and I planted our first flower garden, together, two years ago. We had so much fun putting it together and watching it grow, that last year, we added herbs to the mix. I loved being able to walk outside the door and grab fresh herbs when preparing our meals. It is amazing the difference in taste that fresh picked herbs will add to a dish. So, this year, we have decided to try our hands at some vegetables, as well!
They say that when starting a vegetable garden, you should start small, and I can see why. I am already overwhelmed with everything involved. Yesterday, I prepped the side of our house for spinach, and I will be planting the seeds later this week. Since we have a small space, with rocky soil, I will also be putting in an order with EarthBox to plant the tomatoes, peppers and zucchini we plan to plant out back. I’m excited to see what we will have success with, on our first year of growing vegetables. Hopefully our Project 52 will give me the opportunity to update you with our endeavor.
In case you missed it, you can check out week nine of my Project 52 on the blog.

March 17, 2015Thats awesome!! I always just buy the small plants once I feel like gardening outside rather than starting from seeds, I’m sure your way is MUCH more rewarding. Hope you get lots of veggies this year :) feel free to send some my way if you have more than you can eat.
