Jennifer Smutek Photography | New Hand-Lettered Logo by Nikita Prokhorov!
I’m so excited to finally be launching Jennifer Smutek Photography’s new logo! It has been in the works for a while, and it will be a bit before it is loaded into the new website (coming soon!!!!!), but I am excited to finally unveil the final design! First though, I want to share a bit about the process as I found it to be a lot fun. I knew that I wanted a logo using my signature, and that I wanted it to have a custom, uniform and polished look. I knew right away that there was only one man for the job and that man is Nikita Prokhorov. Not only is Nikita a crazy skydiver, wing walker, ambigram master and friend, he is, by far, one of the most skilled hand-lettering artists I have come across. I was excited to have the chance to work with such a skilled designer and working with him was a lot of fun!
First, Nikita had me send him some samples of my signature and to highlight some of the ones I liked best.
Now you can see why I needed a professional to do my hand-lettering. I have 3 different E’s, 2 different N’s and just and overall sloppy signature! Nikita was great though, and was able to quickly put together a few rough sketches.
From there, I gave him some feedback on what I did and did not like and he was able to come back with the second round of sketches
After looking at these, I was getting really excited, and couldn’t wait for the next round of sketches. Nikita didn’t disappoint when he sent round 3!!!!!
I LOVED it, and after a few minor tweaks, Nikita was able to finalize the logo for me. Drum roll please….
Whoo Hoo! Thanks, Nikita, for being so awesome to work with and being so talented at what you do! To learn more about my process with Nikita, you can check out his website! You should also check out his book and wing walking adventures.
