Christie & Blair | Winter Annapolis Micro Wedding
Christie & Blair | Winter Annapolis Micro Wedding
Last week, Christie & Blair had the most beautiful, and incredibly intimate, winter Annapolis micro wedding. Initially, these two had planned to wed at the Annapolis courthouse. Due to Covid restrictions at the time, I was not even meant to come and photograph their ceremony; I was only able to come for family formals and couples’ portraits after the ceremony. But less than a week before their wedding day, the courts told them they had to come up with something else. Thanks to Covid, in-person, courthouse weddings were being suspended. Man, if this year has taught us anything, it’s how to be flexible and roll with the punches…
With just a few days until their wedding, I got an email from Christie letting me know that their ceremony was now going to take place at her grandparents’ home on the eastern shore. And you know what? I just don’t think it could’ve worked out any better. This meant that I was able to photograph their ceremony and that their parents, grandparents and siblings were able to witness their union in person… all along grandma and grandpa’s beautiful backdrop. The sun was as strong as the love for these two and everything came together just beautifully.
One of the things I love most about these micro weddings, is just how involved all of the family become. Seeing family set up chairs, wrangle dogs and pin boutonnières, brings it all back to why everyone has gathered in the first place. I just love seeing families come together this way- as active participates rather than casual observers.
After their sweet ceremony, we headed off to downtown Annapolis to take advantage of all of the Christmas lights before their met with their family for dinner. Congratulations, Christie & Blair! I’m so incredibly happy for you!
