Caitlin & Paul | St. Michaels Maryland Engagement Session
Caitlin & Paul | St. Michaels Maryland Engagement Session
Caitlin and Paul’s St. Michaels Maryland engagement session, was my first engagement session of the year, and I must say that the year is off to a great start! Caitlin and Paul are everything a wedding photographer could hope for in a couple- they are fun, adventurous, adorable, silly, kind, affectionate and well, just awesome to be around!
When I first met with them, Caitlin mentioned that her grandparents owned some property in St. Michaels, and wanted to know if they could hold their engagement session, at the family home. I always love it when clients choose a location that is special, and has meaning to them, and I always love getting to flex my creative muscles in a new location. So, last Friday, it was off to St. Michaels Maryland, for one of my most favorite engagement sessions- ever.
I had been tracking the weather in St. Michaels for several days before their session and every app I checked said that there would be storms in the morning, followed by clear skies from 3 pm onward. However, as I drove into town, with my wipers on full blast, I must say that I was a little nervous! When I arrived the weather had finally calmed from ‘monsoon’ to ‘misty gross’, so we decided to start the session at Justine’s Ice Cream Parlor, while we waited out the rest of the rain. I mean, who doesn’t want to start the day with some ice cream?
Once the storm passed, we wandered a bit through St. Michaels Maryland. We went to Honeymoon bridge and then off to Caitlin’s grandparent’s private property, to finish off their engagement session. These two allowed me to photograph them for hours, while I tried to apply some of my new Hoffshop strategies, and I couldn’t be more grateful! I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait until spring of 2019 for their wedding!
