A few weeks ago, Andrea & Anthony were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe, at the Browning Building in Pincliff Park, Frederick MD. Now, every wedding and every marriage is remarkable in its own way. But Andrea & Anthony had the wedding that was going to happen… no matter what. From having their first venue cancel on them several months after booking, having to change their wedding date, and hurricane Joaquin threatening to come as an uninvited guest, there were quite a few times that we wondered just how these two were finally going to say I do!

My husband and I were married, the same weekend of hurricane Isabel. So, when Joaquin was threatening to come to Andrea & Anthony’s wedding, I knew *exactly* how they felt. I had been in their exact same shoes, just over a decade ago. And its not just worrying about some rain on your wedding day, there are concerns of safety, travel, power, etc. Having to decide whether or not to have the caterer order the food, days before you know the storms true path, well, that’s just an impossible decision. I tried to not bother Andrea too much during the few days leading up to their wedding, but I was sure to let her know that whatever they decided to do, and whatever happened, I would do everything I could to help. My heart just broke for them… they had put so much thought and hard work into the day, and I really wanted them to enjoy it all!

Luckily though, Joaquin blew east, and Andrea & Anthony had the most beautiful day of the weekend! Joaquin still left his mark, though, and things were a bit hectic getting to the start, but they did it! And you know what?, it was perfect!

When I first met with these two, well over a year ago, I was thrilled when they said they would be having an offbeat, Edgar Allan Poe inspired wedding! I always love it when couples do what they really want and make their wedding a true reflection of themselves! Andrea chose a non-traditional bridal gown… a soft grey with floral accents. The perfect dress for their Edgar Allen Poe inspired wedding!

The ceremony started a bit late, but Anthony’s reaction to seeing his bride was totally worth it! But, they weathered the storm and had the perfect day. And, they didn’t even have formal introductions or dancing at their wedding… They just went back and enjoyed their time with their friends and family!

Andrea & Anthony, congratulations on your beautiful marriage! (And thank you for the amazing VEGAN Mac & Cheese!!!!!!!! You two rock!)

I LOVE THIS!! I looked at this post earlier this morning on my phone and knew I wanted to wait until I could get to a computer to comment and I’m so glad I did! These are GORGEOUS! I love love love all of the Edgar Allen Poe details. What an amazing theme for a wedding? Those apples look damn delicious and so pretty, and that cake is the coolest! I love that they got you Vegan Mac and Cheese too! ;) The portraits are ridiculous, I can’t believe you got so many great ones in just 8 minutes! Amazing!
