Alex & Shauni | Fall Irvine Nature Center Wedding

I first met with Alex and Shauni, about their fall Irvine Nature Center wedding just about a year ago. After chatting with them at their initial consultation meeting, I instantly knew that I was going to love working with these two. So much so, that I actually texted Jimmy, after our meeting, to tell him how sad I would be, if they didn’t book with me!

Luckily, Shauni & Alex booked me a few days later. And it turns out, they were every bit as fantastic to work with, as I imagined.

From their engagement session, to their wedding day, these two are the perfect example of why I love what I do. Shauni & Alex are both the type of people with whom you instantly feel like old friends, from the moment you meet them.  These two are fun; they are adventurous and they are up for any crazy idea you throw at them. Shauni & Alex are caring, yet silly & their families know how to party, like no one’s business.

But most of all, they are two kind souls who are madly in love with each other. These two cannot stop laughing together and being tender with each other. All of this makes Shauni & Alex an absolute joy to know and a joy to photograph.

Alex & Shauni | Fall Irvine Nature Center Wedding

Shauni & Alex first met in high school. But it wasn’t until a chance meeting, at a mutual friend’s house, over winter break in college, that they truly connected. They then went on a few dates together, and have been inseparable ever since.

Together, they spend their time hiking, camping, watching movies and going on bike rides. Their adventurous spirits led them to a park one winter, and onto a trail they hiked on one of their first dates. It was there, surrounded by snow, that Alex asked Shauni to be his wife.

They always say that if you don’t like the weather in Maryland, just wait a minute because you truly never know what the weather will be like. And so, with our crazy Maryland weather, Shauni and Alex would end up with a super-windy day for their fall Irvine Nature Center wedding.

Luckily, we didn’t blow away and Shauni and Alex had a beautiful wedding, surrounded by their family and friends. Shauni and Alex made this paper floral bouquet from the pages of Shaun’s favorite book! Amazing.  I love how happy Alex is, in this photo! These two are the definition of happy together!
Then, it was time to party! For this next image, I’d like to give a shout-out to Ben, from Just Hitched Wedding films. I just wasn’t tall enough even when standing on a chair (story of my life) to get the angle that I wanted to capture this image. So, Ben being the nice (and tall) guy that he is, offered to stand on the chair and push the shutter button for me!
