Holly & Matt’s Engagement Session at the Howard County Conservancy

First, let me just say that I LOVE referrals. I don’t know what it is about referred clients, but they are just always such a blast to work with. Holly and Matt were referred to me by a former client, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Not only was this session filled with non-stop laughter, Holly & Matt turned me on to a new favorite location for photos!

We met on a drizzly Sunday morning at the Howard County Conservancy. This place is fantastic and I would LOVE to shoot a wedding here… *hint, hint*…

Side note… during our session, we kept hearing an interesting noise. Was it a person coughing? No. Was it some sort of farm animal? No. Am I perhaps a bit too “city” since I couldn’t identify the croak of toad? Yes! It *might* be time for me to schedule some outdoors time! Here is the little noise maker…

Thank you, Holly and Matt for such a fun session. I can’t wait until the wedding in July!!!

Family Session: Fort McHenry

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of meeting up with 3 adorable children, for a family session at Fort McHenry. It was great to see this family again, as their mother and I used to be great friends all through school. We had since lost touch, but thanks to Facebook, we reconnected a few years ago! I can’t tell you how thrilled I was when she contacted me about photographing her children this Spring!

Unfortunately, our session was cut short that day, but we still managed to get a few great images of her wonderful kids!

And the baby… Hard to believe I did her newborn session over a year and a half ago!

I’m so thrilled that I was able to work with these awesome kids again!

Rachel & Bryan’s Nixon’s Farm Wedding

Ahhh, the first wedding of the season! A few weeks ago, I had the honor of photographing Rachel and Bryan’s lovely wedding at Nixon’s Farm in West Friendship, Maryland. This was a special treat, as just this past fall, I was also lucky enough to photograph Bryan’s sister’s wedding!

The day started with Rachel and her girls getting ready at the Columbia Sheraton. And it was great working with Up Do’s for I Do’s again! Rachel looked fantastic!

I *may* have had a little too much fun, photographing Rachel’s shoes. But, with shoes like these, can you really blame me?
Rachel’s dress was fantastic; it was as if it were made especially for her!Rachel sneaking a quick peek of Bryan and his guys as they arrive…Everyone wants a glimpse!So beautiful!Then, it was off to Nixon’s farm, for a lovely ceremony and reception.
I just LOVE when a couple sees each other before the ceremony. Bryan prepares for the “first look”…It is so nice when a couple gets to share this moment together before the ceremony. My awesome associate photographer, Nick, captured this sweet moment.The bridal party looked fantastic as well!Then, it was inside for a sweet ceremony…Time to celebrate, with a Vermont themed wedding reception!

A Special Newborn Session… with Twins!!!

I will start this post off by saying that I have never photographed twin newborns before. However, having photographed babies, Everett and Hazel’s, parent’s engagement, wedding and “Rock the Dress” session, I just couldn’t wait to photograph these two! As expected, twins are much more challenging than a single baby, but certainly twice the snuggles and sweetness!

Ciera and John’s Engagement Session…

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to finally be able to shoot and post this session. I’ve known Ciera since she was a little girl and I am totally stoked to be photographing her wedding this coming fall! She and John make such a sweet couple and you just know these two are meant for each other.

We started the session at Federal Hill on a blistery morning in November, just in time to catch the sunrise…

Aren’t they adorable????? I can’t wait until September!

Brea and Steve’s Maui, Hawaii Destination Wedding. Aloha!!

Well folks, here it is!.. the long awaited, much anticipated, Maui wedding blog post! Let me just start by saying what an incredible honor it was to be flown half way across the world to photograph Brea and Steve’s Hawaii wedding. While this was not my first destination wedding, this was the first that took me a few time zones and an ocean away. I am so grateful to have such an awesome job and amazing clients that have allowed these experiences in my life. What is interesting though, is that regardless of whether the wedding takes place on a paradise island or in a small hometown church, being there when two people promise to spend the rest of their lives together, well- what can I say?.. Wow, I have a really cool job.

We started the day at the Makena Golf and Beach Resort in Makena Maui, Hawaii…

First, I met up with Brea and her mom while Brea got ready…

I just love being there to witness these touching moments…

I then headed down the hall to hang out with Steve and his dad for a few…

We then headed down stairs where Brea and Steve had a very sweet “first look”…

The Makena Beach and Golf resort has fantastic grounds to work with. Brea, Steve and I stole a few moments to “work the grounds” and get this series of shots…

Then, it was off to the “secret beach” where Brea and Steve were married…

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the great Maui scenery and the early evening light…

Brea’s bouquet was adorned by her late Uncle’s dog tag…
