Why do you include an engagement session in your wedding packages?
Over the course of your wedding day you will be dealing with many vendors. Most of those vendors, however, will only be with you for
a short period of time. Since in most cases your photographer will be with you all day, it is important for us to feel comfortable working together. An engagement session is a great way for us to get to know each other before your big day. Plus, by having the engagement session you get a great picture to post in the newspaper with your engagement announcement.
What about black and white vs. color photography?
Both black and white and color photography coverage is available for your wedding. We can discuss how much black and white you would like to incorporate into your wedding coverage.
What if some of your equipment stops working on our wedding day?
I have backup equipment. And yes, I have backup for my backup.
Do you work with an assistant?
Yes. Since no photographer can be in two places at once, having an assistant means that you will get full coverage of your wedding day.
What if you don’t have a wedding package that matches what we are looking for?
The wedding packages that are available are simply starting points. Since every couple is unique, a custom package can be designed to fit your specific needs.
Will we still get formal photographs?
The style of your wedding coverage can be tailored to fit your personal taste. Even when a wedding is shot with photojournalism we can still take a few moments, either before or after your ceremony, to do some formals with family and friends.
How many proof images will we receive?
Depending on the amount of coverage you choose for your wedding day, you can expect to receive about 300-500 edited photos.
How do wedding photographers determine their pricing structure?
Like any business, photographers have overhead. The camera and lighting equipment that is needed to be able to meet the photographic demands of a wedding is expensive. In addition to equipment, (and the backup equipment) photographers have to pay for their assistants, as well as the editing, processing and delivery of your pictures. Photographers also consider the amount of time that goes into a wedding. On average, about 30-40 hours goes into each wedding a photographer does in addition to the hours spent with you on your wedding day.
Why should we hire a professional?
Well, just remember that after the food is gone, the flowers have wilted and that white dress is stored in a box somewhere, all that you will have left to remember your day are your photographs. It is your big day… entrust it to a professional!
